- All videos produced by the Ford Foundation since 2020 include captions and downloadable transcripts. For videos where visuals require additional understanding, we offer audio-described versions.
- We are continuing to make videos produced prior to 2020 accessible.
- Videos from third-party sources (those not produced by the Ford Foundation) may not have captions, accessible transcripts, or audio descriptions.
In this video, we visit the New York Hall of Science (NYSCI) in Corona, Queens, where an Innovation Institute is providing opportunities for high school-age participants to explore making, entrepreneurship and design research—and to create something of value for the surrounding community.
As a grant coming from our arts and culture program, our support for NYSCI may be rather unorthodox. But it’s also a perfect fit: an investment in an exemplary program that brings together creativity, science and overlays our social justice mission. The young participants are creating things that matter, and learning that “helping people is a big part of invention.”
